Episode 94
Farting & Dostoyevsky
Show broadcast on 5 December 2015
Slam! Stories of the best insults and put-downs you've endured this week, plus Elis makes his best/worst ever joke, and John finds comfort in a quirk of nature. Plus the boys have got Humble Brag Of The Week, Email Of The Species and of course Winner Plays On.
John's introduction of Elis
"To my left is a man familiar to many at this time of year. He goes by many names. Some call him Dad Nadolig. Some call him Nicholas Sant. Some call him Siôn Corn. "
Conversations and riffs
Last night was the Radio X Christmas party. It is also Christmas comedy gig time, which means raucous party audiences with the chanting and heckling. Elis was heckled by an Irish person basically describing his appearance down to the fact he was wearing a jumper.
John was at a gig during the week and was wrongly accused of farting.
John has noticed that several comedians have featured in Elis' sitcom 'Josh' but John has not been invited to appear. He proposes a scenario for the potential second series that would allow him to be involved.
Elis is so nostalgic for a car he owned 10 years ago that he refuses to throw out the registration book.

What are the best slams (put-downs) you've given or received?
Humblebrag
More examples of that scourge of social media, the humblebrag.
You almost had an affair today but then realised the woman you fancied in the supermarket was your wife. Looking at 'old photos' of you... in your Men's Health cover shoots. Trying to open the door to your apartment building with your Apple Watch.
Winner Plays On
Elis and John face off in the weekly quiz on topics of their choice.
Van Morrison (John) v Dixie Dean (Elis). In an effort to break Elis out of his recent Winner Plays On funk, John has gone very easy on his questions, to the extent that Elis wins 7-1 (out of five questions).
