Episode 59
Elis' Two Jumpers in Barcelona, Ill Elis, Elis Excluded. It's an Elis-Fest.
Show broadcast on 28 March 2015
It's all Elis this week. He made it to the studio despite debilitating illness, and John cheered him up by forgetting to include him in a fantasy comedy festival line-up. Alongside your own tales of being left out, we also heard about Elis skiing, Elis in Barcelona and Elis reaching puberty. Plus Winner Plays On, Email Of The Species, Textual Healing, and the conclusion of the double-cliffhanger A Robins Amongst The Pigeons.
John's introduction of Elis
"To my left is Wales' answer to Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, it's Elis 'The Tit' James. "
Conversations and riffs
Elis is ill. John has already had the bug but got over it in three days. Elis: "Oh yeah, because John's great and his immune system went to Oxford." Elis went on a stag do to Barcelona with this illness then realised how sick he was and came home. He was so feverish he wore two jumpers then had to take both off.
Elis starts telling a story about being told off by the instructor on his first skiing trip then gets zinged with the 'Anecdote and a Punchline' sting. Elis: "Oh you nasty little... cube".
John provided a list of his top stand-up comedy acts to a magazine but Elis did not feature.
Find out how early or late John and Elis went through puberty.
