Episode 48
Organised Fun, Skittle Confusion and the perfect pub crawl
Show broadcast on 10 January 2015
John's military precision to detail takes over his Oxford-based pub crawl, Elis gets in a right kerfuffle over this week's Tie-Breaker during Winner Plays On, and the boys tackle another problem in Textual Healing.
John's introduction of Elis
"To my left is... well, I'm not quite sure. I think I recognise him. I think he's my sister's brother's mate? Are you Clint Eastwood? Is it Butch Reynolds? Or Burt Reynolds? That's it, you're that guy off Crimes! (Elis: "It's Crims"). "
Conversations and riffs
Elis is starring in new BBC 3 sitcom 'Crims' (not 'Crimes') in which he plays someone about half his age.
More chat about Elis and Producer Dave's separate stag trips to Barcelona that are taking place at the same time, and how John is envious. But it does give him an excuse to get Queen played on Xfm.
John and his friend Robin went on a nostalgia pub crawl around Oxford, which they'd organised with military precision, note taking and pub rating. John recounts some of the day from his pub crawl journal. He also provides some tips on arranging a successful pub crawl.
